Definition of a Veteran.
A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank
check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up
to and including my life".
That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who
no longer understand it.

Since our charter in Topeka, the American Legion Capitol Post 1 has been welcoming Veterans from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals embodied in our preamble below.
To the wonderful patriotic citizens of the Topeka community. Join our Post as a Booster or Sponsor. (click Sponsor or Booster Button for details). 100% of the monies raised are given back to the Topeka community. Help us to continue sponsoring Scholarships for our children; give aid and assistance to our local needy Veterans and their families. Help us to continue to support financially worthy community programs and projects.
Our monthly meetings are held on the Thursday following the second Monday of each month (check our CALENDAR for the exact date and time).
